My Hat

Double stranded.  Merino wool and acrylic.  Warm and fluffy.  Extra soft.  Not too tight.  Just perfect.  Just for me.

My first treasury!

Woodland Gnomes

Every time I paint little gnomes I get caught up in imagining the little villages they live in.

Christmas Quilts... done!

While we were holed up this weekend waiting out a snow storm, I finished up these three quilts.  The top one is for Boo, the middle one is for Miss M and the bottom one is for Little H.  I am really happy with how they turned out and I really hope the kiddos love them.

Finished:  New fingerless mitts using 100% Merino Wool.

New toasty mitts plus peppermint tea sweetened with Blue Agave syrup equals bliss.

Christmas Quilt #1

I felt so inspired as I declared this the year for a handmade Christmas.  I planned out my gift lists and bought supplies.  A few months ago, it seemed easy peasy to whip out new quilts for the three little ones.  Now as Christmas quickly approaches... I'm freaking out.

I did manage to finish quilt #1.  This one is for Boo.  It is filled with all of the things he loves.  The back is a snuggly fleece with all sorts of balls on it.  I hope he likes it and doesn't notice that some of it looks like it was sewn by a drunken  monkey.  (No offence to any monkeys reading this blog.)

I Believe in Fairies

These were inspired by a darling book Miss M. was reading.  I think I need to make them some friends.

Christmas Monkey

I can check another Christmas present off the list.  I finished this sassy monkey last night.  Now for a name...

Rainy Day

I finished 6 pairs of knitting needles last night!  I'm really loving the new wax finish I picked up.  Unfortunately today is dark and rainy which makes for yucky photos.  :(

Things are getting out of hand

I've been a little obsessed with knitting lately. I've got at least two projects going at all times and I rarely go anywhere without my knitting bag. I knit a lot in the car when while I'm waiting for Miss M to get out of school. In the evenings I can often be found painting new sets of knitting needles. As I looked around my house yesterday, I had to laugh at some of the evidence I saw of my obsession.

A look at my dresser.

Poor Santa has been attacked by a rogue ball of yarn.

Busy Busy Busy

It's been a busy weekend.  I've got 5 sets of knitting needles and one pin cushion to package up and get out the door, plus a custom order for 3 sets of knitting needles.  On top of that I have a few more designs that have been jostling around in my head.  I'm not going to be able to rest until I give them a try.  I'd better be productive tomorrow!

These candy-like Knitting Needles remind me of bubble gum. Yummy!

I love how these sweet little birds turned out.
