Knitted Doll Dress

I made a knitted dress for Miss M's American Girl Doll.  She had asked me to pretty please make her one and I just had to oblige.  I found a simple enough pattern on Ravelry but it turned out so short!  I had to add quite a few rows to get it half way to the doll's knee.  I used a size bigger on the needles so maybe that was the problem.  Miss M liked it well enough though.

Plum Jam

6 1/2 cups of chopped up plums
4 1/2 cups sugar
1 box low-sugar pectin

Pit and chop the plums.  Pulse in the blender.
Pour into a large pot and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat, cover and simmer 5 minutes.

Turn up heat and bring back to boil.
Add pectin and return to boil, stirring constantly.
Add sugar, return to boil, boil 1 minute, stirring constantly.

Ladel into hot, sterilized jars.
Seal and process in a hot water bath for 5 minutes.
Let cool and enjoy!

Maternity Shorts

Simplicity 2608

These are simple jersey shorts with a fold over yoga-style waist band.  They aren't specifically maternity shorts but they work really well for me!  I think the waist-to-crotch measurement is a little too deep for my liking but it works fine as far as maternity shorts go.  I think I'll just shorten the pattern when I make them again.

Bowls

I've got such an addiction to vintage Pirex bowls.  I just can't get enough of them.  I'm pretty religious about checking the thrift store every time I go in.  I just found two orange ones today and I almost died.  They make the perfect serving/mixing bowls for my ever growing family and I love the handles on the sides.

New Pictures

I got a new camera for my birthday and so I've been updating all the pictures in my shop.  The pictures look so much better now.  I can't believe the difference!
